How to Enable Cookies

To sign up for sessions, cookies must be enabled in your browser.

According to Merriam-Webster Online a cookie is a "small part of a file stored on a World Wide Web user's computer, created and subsequently read by a Web site server, and containing personal information (as a user identification code, customized preferences, or a record of pages visited.)

  1. From the Menu Bar, choose "Tools"
  2. Choose "Internet options"
  3. Choose "Privacy" tab
  4. Slide bar to "medium"
FireFox 1.5.0.1
  1. From the Menu Bar, choose "Tools"
  2. Choose "Options"
  3. Click on the "Privacy" icon
  4. Click on the "Cookies" tab
  5. Be sure there is a check in the box beside "allow sites to set cookies"
FireFox 1.0
  1. From the Menu Bar, choose "Tools"
  2. Choose "Options"
  3. Choose "Privacy"
  4. Click on the "+" sign to open the Cookie folder
  5. Make sure there is a check mark in the "allow sites to set cookies" box
  6. Click "OK"
Mozilla 1.7
  1. From the Menu Bar, choose "Tools"
  2. Choose "Cookie Manager"
  3. Be sure that "Use Default Cookie Permissions" has a bullet beside it
  4. If it does not, then click beside this option
  5. If successful, you will see a confirmation message
Netscape 7.1
  1. From the Menu Bar, choose "Tools"
  2. Choose "Cookie Manager"
  3. Make sure "Unblock cookies from this site" is greyed out
  4. If it is not, then choose "Block cookies from this site"
  5. If successful, you will see a confirmation message
